5 Ways to be an organized mommy

Saying ‘being a new mother is tough’ is probably the understatement of the millennium. Being responsible for the wellbeing of a child is not just overwhelming; it can be downright exhausting. You probably spend half the day just planning your day.

But it need not be so. A few simple tricks and tips can help you be a ninja mom who’s organized, in control, and prepared to fulfill her baby’s every need.

The key to being organized is to anticipate your child’s requirements and be prepared. Here’s what you can do.

1. Stock up on diapers:

Making a diaper run when the baby needs it is the last thing you want to do. Think you have enough diapers when you’re heading out? Well, add two more. A good rule of the thumb is to carry one diaper for every hour you are out. In addition, fill your bag with baby wipes, baby powder, rash cream, moisturizer, hand sanitizer, a hand towel, and biodegradable bags to dispose of used diapers.

2. Always carry food and water:

Food and water from outside may not be safe, especially for young kids. If you carry home-cooked food and water with you, you can enjoy your day without stress. So, depending on your baby’s age, you can carry khichdi, fruit, milk, cookies etc. Ensure the food is packed well and is in a temperature-controlled environment so it does not go bad.

3. Take along an extra pair of clothes:

Your baby may spill food, throw up, drool, or sweat, so always keep an extra pair of clothes handy. She could also soil her pants despite having a diaper, and this would certainly necessitate a change of clothing. Always carry breathable and loose cotton clothes as they are easy on your baby’s delicate skin.

4. Carry a comfort blanket or toy:

If your baby gets cranky, you should have things that comfort her. It could be a favorite blanket or toy or a pacifier. Carry items that will distract her, and keep her occupied and happy. If going out in the sun, carry a hat and a baby-friendly sunscreen.

5. Use mosquito repellent:

You want to safeguard your baby from those pesky little mosquitoes at all times. Not only do they leave uncomfortable and itchy wheals on the skin, they are also carriers of parasites that can cause dangerous diseases such as dengue and malaria. Ideally, avoid going to unhygienic places where there is garbage or stagnant water.

The best way to protect your baby is to apply a mosquito repellent that’s made especially for the outdoors. Goodknight Fabric Roll-on is an effective product you can rely on. It is created for the outdoors and is safe for babies. All you have to do is apply four dots on your baby’s clothes and you get protection for eight hours. Goodknight Fabric Roll-on is made from natural ingredients such as citronella and eucalyptus oil and does not stain clothes.

Being a mother should be a fun experience – and that’s what it can be with a little preparation. So follow this checklist and make your life that much easier. Happy parenting!
