5 Tips To Stay Safe From The Breakbone Fever

Dengue is a viral infection caused by the dengue virus that is transmitted through the bite of the infected Aedes mosquito. It is also called ‘breakbone fever’ because of the intense muscle and bone ache it causes. Dengue can be potentially fatal, which is why it is important to take the following 5 prevention tips seriously.

  1. Reduce mosquito habitat

Our living environment, our houses are never completely safe from mosquitoes. However, it is completely upon us to keep their number to a minimum. The dengue mosquito breeds in stagnant water. Eliminate standing water in buckets, low spots, ditches and similar areas. Ensure you empty receptacles that may collect water (e.g. pot plant saucers, bird feeders and AC trays). Do not overwater plants and always keep sinks and basins clean. Such simple steps can help prevent possible breeding of mosquitoes.

Use mosquito nets while sleeping and mesh on your windows. Eliminate mosquitoes to eliminate the risk of dengue.

  1. Eat well and hydrate

To stop dengue virus from incubating in the first place, your immune system needs to be strong. To keep the body safe, vigilance is important. Include more fruits and proteins in your diet. Detox from time to time with Tulsi water to cleanse your system of parasites. Eat healthy and hydrate qualitatively.

  1. Wear long-sleeved shirts and long pants

Dress in clothing that covers arms and legs, especially when stepping outdoors around sunrise or sunset. Unlike other disease-causing mosquitoes, dengue mosquitoes bite during the day with their activity peaking at dawn and dusk. It is important to make use of a personal repellent when heading outdoors, particularly in the day.

  1. Use mosquito repellents

It is essential to use mosquito repellents both indoors and outdoors.

While going outdoors, just apply 4 dots of Goodknight Fabric Roll-On on your clothes for 8 hours of mosquito protection. For babies that are less than 2 months old, apply 4 dots on prams, cots or strollers. The Fabric Roll-On is made up of 100% natural ingredients such as citronella and eucalyptus oils and hence completely safe to use.

While you’re at home, use the 2x power Goodknight Gold Flash System for complete protection from mosquitoes. Don’t forget to switch it on in the morning as well, as dengue mosquitoes are most active during that period. The dual mode advantage of the Gold Flash System ensures that you and your family are protected from mosquitoes at all times.
